THE 30 DAY ART CHALLENGE!
I have a much neglected art journal. It’s an awesome thing with a red hardcover and roomy pages…blank pages…I decided it deserves more attention.
I’ve put together a 30 Day Art Challenge for myself. I’m posting it here in case anyone would like to join me. It would be great if anyone wanted to join.
Art is a relative term, so my intent is to include pieces that may be graphic, written, or maybe even audio. There are no rules, because hard-fast rules for me (in such circumstances) can promote failure. So it’s all about flexibility… so if you only want to do one and make it an essay, then so be it! Go hog wild and do day five on day 25 for all I care… just have some fun. I love art and the way I see it, even on my own this can only make me happy.
So here’s the rules:
- It starts August 1, 2016
- A list of daily cues is below
- If you want to participate every day, or willy nilly, go ahead
- I will put up a link daily
- There are no rules.
30 days of cues to create a daily form of art:
- Who are you?
- Favorite book character
- What are you looking at right now?
- PURPLE!
- You created a monster!
- What do you miss?
- What’s your superpower?
- What couldn’t you live without?
- What’s your favorite movie?
- Cityscape
- Worst food ever!
- A favorite childhood toy
- Water, water everywhere!
- If you could go anywhere in the world?
- GRAFFITI!
- Kitchens of the future
- Killer sheep
- DOODLES!
- X-RAYS
- YELLOW!
- Is that on fire?
- New inventions
- Treehouse living
- I Can Fly
- UFOs, Martians, and Saucers
- Promote an unlikely product
- Favorite music
- The book jacket on your autobiography
- Blind dates
- GO WILD!
You can do ANYTHING! (from upper left to right):
- collage
- pastels
- graphic
- sharpies doodling
- graphic collage
- origami
- baking
- performance art
- painting
- writing
- photography
- anything you want!

Sounds like great fun and also FAR more commitment than I could possibly manage. Looking forward to seeing what you make though 🙂

No commitment necessary….just do it if the mood strikes…no biggie…or just come for the show….all good

I’d like to do *something* if I have time. My blog is growing cobwebs.

How is it that there is a 3 hour difference between us and we’re still both up at the same ridiculous hours?

I am not an artist but I like to draw, paint, color . . . I’m in!

I know I won’t make it in for every day, but I’m sure Zilla will want to share something. I still have her Carrot art – never did post it for her. Shit falls apart on me all the time.

HI, Ivy:
I hope you are feeling better, and that your Joule dog is turning out to be the jewel you though she would be! As in powerful but not too shocking!
I am aware the “30 day art challenge” is happening. Right now.
And I am missing it. Entirely.
There is a simple explanation for my failure to participate in the activity.
We decided to move. On virtually no notice at all. Took a look, made a decision, and started packing.
Now we are in our new suite, but are far from being “moved in.” There is a lot of stuff just “sitting there,” waiting to be lovingly placed in its new resting place. That said, the majority of things are in their new location. It’s just that a lot of mine aren’t, and the development (or, more precisely, lack thereof) is starting to bother me. As well, we have no internet for the next ten days, and that has cut me off from a lot of things people! It’s the people I miss most.
The only significant drawback to this place is its “No dogs” policy. In fact, the “No pets at all” policy. Sigh. So much for getting a pet Kangaroo! Or perhaps a pet Moose.
Blessings and Bear hugs!
