She was feeling defeated. She had already lived through four centuries; how much proof would it take? “People are never going to change.” There would always be the same stress, no matter the time or place: money, status, attitude, other people. Maybe it was time to give up.
“One more,” she thought as she stepped through the portal, for what she hoped was the last time.

What an intriguing beginning to what could be an amazing novel! I like to believe that in the end hope always prevails. If we give up hoping, all is surely lost, and I don’t want that to be the end of the story, of our story! I want to know about her previous experiences and why she is determined to try one more time. What does she hope to accomplish. I loved this!
